Getting Ready For Camp Adair

Today we got into our activity groups and our cabin groups for camp adair.  For both groups we got to earn a little bit about each other.  Each activity group has a name, our name is The Minions.  For the cabin group we made a shield with a motto.  Our shield showcases what all of us like.  Our motto is: Eat Sleep fave Fun Repeat.

I'm excited about...

My cabin group, because Christian (one of my great friends) is so funny.  It'll be great to see what he'll come up with next.

The confidence course, because it just looks like a blast.

And lastly, I'm looking forward to eating their food.

One thing I need to remember is sunblock!

Library Visit

Today the whole school participated in a "Fashion Show" we all walked around "showing off" our costumes I went as an All Black. Here are some photos.

Ag Day Art

Today was the first day that agricultural day was held a TAPS and we did some art with we being RM 20. Each class did different art projects RM 20 did fish art where when you fold the bottom downwards it turns from a nice fish to a devil fish.

Summer Disaster

As I am sheathed in a frosty capsule, I'm preparing for 100 layers of heat A.K.A pass out central. I step out to feel a blazing heat slap leaving me with an astounding mark! The mark was so red it made Elmo jealous! I step inside regretting, "If only I wore sunscreen."

Fruit Burst Writing

The appetizing candy invites me into a pleasant mouth water. The smell elegantly wafts into my nose and drizzles down my throat. I withdraw the lollies succulent flavour revealing the chewy side of the journey. Finally the tatty, saliva encased fruit burst drifts down my throat and goes into my digestive system, but that is another story.

Short Film

We have worked on creating a storyboard from a short script.
Our script was;

1. Sam is bored, bored, bored.  He sits at the back of the room as the rest of the class quietly work reading and writing their stories in their exercise books.  He doesn’t like writing in his exercise book and decides to rip a page out.  He concentrates very hard as he folds it up and makes a paper aeroplane.

1. Sam sees Mark across the room, he aims and throws the paper aeroplane towards him.  The plane flies through the air and hits Mark on the back of the head.  He turns around to see where it came from. Sam quickly puts his head down pretending to read his exercise book.

The Burger

Drooling, the cheese cramped burger entices me. As the burgers steam drifts off, ketchup and cheese wafts through out the food court.  Ketchup and  mustard drizzles down my shirt, as I devour the burger

Cabbage Soup

Nearly hurling, I try escaping, but my dad’s eagle eye glares at me.  Pocket sized bits of cabbage lie waiting to be eaten but their dreams won’t be fulfilled.  Bravely, I down the lot.  Rushing to the toilet, vivid yellow green and crimson red colours spill out with chunks chunks of chewed up cabbage.  What a meal.

Swimming Sports

As the sun complemented the water with a slight shimmer, I sat with boredom taking over my body.  I’m waiting for a race to start. Parents and teachers sit with mixed emotions whilst kids wait anxiously for their house to break into a chant.

Shaking, adrenaline builds up inside of me, my hearts about to implode! I whisper under my breath in horror “Breaststroke! Oh no!” I glide breaking the air like a majestic swan.  As intense cheers are heard, I’m in the water battling for first place!

I stop.  What.  Shivers trigger a spine tingle.  “Oh… It’s just the finish.” Relief runs through my blood “First place NO WAY!” I think to myself. What a race.

Silently, I lay under a mansion for ants. Ghosts barf encapsulates us, making Kendyl, Dylan and I look like mad men hunting for unicorns. It’s dark, no sign of light is showing, only whispers, giggles, pen dropping and the occasional fart is all to be heard. Claustrophobia takes my body to a point where I'm hyperventilating. I threw myself out second take three deep breaths “It’s over!”

Smoke wafts in the air, fire spreads in a cylinder encapsulating the key part to cook a hangi..... (heated rocks.) All three matuas are watching the process of heating the rocks eagerly as all of the wheas prepare the heihei (chicken,) paukena (pumpkin,) miti (meat,) kumara (sweet potato) and riwai (potato,) for the whanau.
